MOST CHRISTIANS WOULD START WITH RECOMMENDING THAT YOU READ THAT BIBLE WHICH OF COURSE IS FINE BUT FOR MANY PEOPLE IT IS THE INNERSTANDING (EXISTENTIAL/SPIRITUAL) THAT OFTEN COMMUNICATES/CONVINCES THEM OF GOD’S PRESENCE IN THEIR LIVES THE MOST SO I’LL START THERE.
( I RECALL FROM MY EARLY YEARS WHILE GOING TO A PROTESTANT SEMINARY BEING A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF TRAINING IN SPIRITUALITY. THE MODEL FOR THE GOOD SHEPHERD SCHOOL OF DIVINTIY WILL BE DIFFERENT IN MANY WAYS PARTICULARLY IN THE ASPECTS OF SPIRITUAL TRAINING. LATER IN MY CAREER AS AN IT MANAGER WORKING AT A CATHOLIC SEMINARY AND ALSO ASSISTING IN THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS FOR THE SCHOOL, I RECOGNIZED THE LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL THAT HAD BEEN IMPOSED ON OUR ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS. I use the NKJV of the Bible for those passages in which I want a more literal translation, either from Aramaic or Hebrew. However, until I understood more about Hebrew culture, the things about concubines, servants, spirit, winds of breath (Holy Spirit) or fire (anger) didn’t mean anything. If we think the Old Testament (the Tanakh) has been modified, think about the New Testament and all the fear porn that they claimed came from the mouth of God or Yeshua and ask “does this sound like the God I know?” More often than not, the answer will be no. That said, this does not mean the Bible is false or not the word of God. It is but we must use our discernment to get the hidden message that they could not edit out, even with contextual Bibles like the Amplified Translation.
For a more spiritual context to Yeshua’s message, I use The Third Testament, whose original language was Spanish. This is a little easier to get an exact translation as Spanish is a rules-based language like English, with a definite structure where a bilingual person can easily verify the truth of a translation. Hebrew is a contextual, pattern matching, language where sound and rhythm make a big difference, even though the words look the same and it is relatively easy for the editors to translate it the way their puppetmasters want. Very few people know ancient or paleo-Hebrew and those who take it now get the Masoretic version of the language, which is how they introduced the lies into the Bible.
